Education

Mr. Cernek received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Illinois at the Chicago Campus in 1988.

 

He received a scholarship to study abroad for one year at the Unite Pedagogique III in Paris France in 1985. During these studies he traveled extensively throughout Austria, Belgium, England, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, and Spain. He studied many aspects of classical, modern and contemporary architecture.

 

He served his architectural apprenticeship from 1983 to 1989 in the architectural firms of Jaeger Nickola & Associates, Jordan Mozer & Associates, and Edmund Zisook & Associates gaining experience in the architecture of single-family residential, multi-family residential, religious buildings, restaurants, condominiums, movie theatres, health clubs, and commercial space under the direct supervision of licensed architects.

 

At the conclusion of his architectural apprenticeship Mr. Cernek gained experience in-the-field as a carpenter and foreman on various single and multi-family residential construction projects.

Archi/Build

Craig T. Cernek, AIA formed Archi/Build in 1990 to fulfill his vision of combining the art and science of architecture with the old world craftsmanship of a master builder.

 

Since the inception of Archi/Build, Mr. Cernek’s portfolio includes Design/Build projects for both residential and commercial work the scope of which encompasses remodeling, additions, and new construction for single-family residential, multi-family residential, condominiums, retail space, office build-outs, warehouses, printing plants, auto body shops, and hotels.
